Why is the AFL such a secure closet?
I know from personal experience, many decades ago, with two Hawthorn players ( then VFL) such animals as gay players exist.
Why is it rugby players and others from different sports have the guts to come out of the closet yet AFL players are still terrified of being honest and open?
I have this fantasy that one day two hunky men are going to walk into the Brownlow Medal night holding hands.
This shyness can’t be due to any fear of losing sponsorship as many blokes who’ve come out as openly gay in other sports have not only kept sponsorships but actually increased it.
So what gives?
